CS (Côme Sonnet) was born in Paris, in France, in 1989, and grew up in the department of Calvados, in a family of artists. He is a portraitist of floating faces and faded looks, and he tracks expression through watercolors that evoke sometimes heavy rain, sometimes dew, sometimes wave, puddle, mud, or else stagnant...
He attempts to depict ounces of lives imbued with composite shards. From oblivion's stony fragments to crystalline shreds of winter, picked up here and there, leafing through our dreams and fantasies.
He tries to explore these myriad possibilities carried by a creative process that requires a moment of jolt: the one of the bumpy vicinity that quickly turns him away from a primary intention. Like the flares waltzers who get out of breath to the din of the red grass, and cuckoos who coo in a green of moss.
A visceral process: a subsidy for the soul, a balm for cruelty, a slipper for roughness. The notes of rain after the downpour, and the petrichor...
